After training with a Cambridge Firm, Deryn qualified as a Solicitor in 1988, and moved to the City as Private Client Lawyer, where her clients included many well-known names. Following a family move to California several years later, she returned to the UK in 1998, and ran her own business for five years, before moving on to administer and develop a local charity of which she is now a Trustee. In 2010, Deryn returned to law and has since continued to develop her Private Client work.

Deryn has specialist expertise in Will drafting and Inheritance Tax planning, Probate, Lasting Powers of Attorney, registration of Enduring Powers and other associated matters. She has experience of the Court of Protection, and has advised on and implemented the establishment of an educational trust, including its registration as a charity.

She also undertakes a small amount of bespoke residential conveyancing.
